With a year of experience volunteering as a news and sports reporter, I advanced to Co-Sports Director and later became an Assignment Editor after just one semester. During this time, I supported fellow volunteer reporters in gathering information while also conducting my own reporting. My responsibilities included writing, editing packages, and creating graphics for our television newscasts. Additionally, through SIUC, I had the opportunity to work on live sporting events for ESPN3 and ESPN+ both behind the camera and as a broadcaster.
